Holiday Smoothie

The ingredients are all available at this time of year and colors are festive and show holiday spirit as well. This smoothie is both appealing to the eye and the palate. It’s rich, creamy and full of flavor. You could add in some fresh mint in place of, or in addition to the fennel root. The only reason I didn’t was because it was pouring rain and I didn’t want to walk out to the garden to get the fresh mint.

You can use the fennel stalks as they have great flavor too. Enjoy!

3 very ripe persimmons

1 cup of raspberries

2 oranges

2 bananas

1 fennel bulb

½ to ¾ head of romaine

1” chunk of fresh ginger

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 teaspoon cinnamon
