Watch out for this one

I tried this one and ignored the last comment about the mix not being a good idea for everyone. It tasted ok, but I was violently sick shortly after so do please be careful.

Oranges
by: Anonymous

I read on your site not to peel fruit.

Does this include oranges?

Hugh's reply***** No, you should peel the oranges. It's just that there is very good nutrition in the skins and peels of many fruits and vegetables so they should be included in juices, smoothies, and other raw recipes. There are a few exceptions like oranges and avocado.

sweet potato, carrot, pineapple

a sweet potato tastes amazing juiced. A recipe I tried is 3 large carrots 1/2 pineapple and 1 sweet potato. It's my favorite juice by far and even some of my friends who turned up their noses at some of the green juices loved it.

2 1/2 CUPS ? or 2 l/2 sweet potatoes

Just seems like a LOT of sweet potato. I'm brand new. Thanks Haven't tried it yet.

***Hugh's reply****

Not my recipe, but perhaps they don't put out that much juice. The recipe does call for 2 ½ sweet potatoes. It does say it makes 16 oz. of juice. I would try it with 1 sweet potato and see what kind of yield you get. Then you can juice more as needed.

I just started juicing tonight! I tried the green recipe...yummy!
This one will be next. In response to the previous comment about the starch and citrus not potentially being a good mix (for the tummy); the ginger should take care of that!

Sweet Potatoes
by: Anonymous

Q I am new to juicing - are the sweet potatoes raw? Thanks!

A Yes, they are. I have never tried this combination, but it seems like it could be a poor combination for some people. The citrus and starch from the sweet potato may not mix well, but try it and see.
