Raw Weight Loss for Emergency Surgery
I was facing a spine fusion as a car accident decades earlier caused my vertebra to slowly shift over the years and now it was pressing on my spine causing severe pain and numbness in my left leg. I was 310 lbs. at that and scared about the surgery.
My surgeon mentioned that due to my weight they have to do a "360" degree fusion. Meaning fuse my spine with hardware from the back and front. Typical it is just the back and coming in also from the front meant a fourfold increase in complications. He also said if I was 30 lbs. less I probably would only need it fused from the front.
From many years of trying to lose weight I realized a raw vegan diet was the best. I followed it strictly to the letter and after a week I started losing one, sometimes two pounds a day like clockwork. I was very restrictive with what I ate and in two months I had lost 50 lbs. I ended up have the single entry surgery and it was a success.
Even better is a year later I still have kept the weight off. It was amazing to see the weight go off so fast when I had struggled for years yet never truly followed what I knew was the ideal diet - raw vegan. I will never forget how for those months every day I stepped on the scale and not a day did pass that my weight was not down 1 to 2 lbs.
I would like to lose another 50 lbs. for my heath and be at the weight that I should be. I have not been following it like I should and plan on starting up again and make it a permanent lifestyle as is makes sense. I know how to do it as I did it before but will not be so restrictive *then it was plain salads and fruits and nothing else). And I expect to get good results like last time.
