I'll try it again, removing ALL the grapefruit rind! I cut the grapefruit peel off the first time the same way I do oranges, leaving the white rind and removing only the colored skin. I'm sure a lot of the bitterness was left to go in my juice. Maybe peeling it with my hands the way I would normally do when eating an orange will at least let me eat up the rest of the organic grapefruit I now have. :) Thanks!

... Grapefruit... by: Anonymous
Just throwing this out there for those who don't play on team grapefruit. I'm not the biggest fan either but this recipe is awesome just to make sure and remove ALL of the rind. The bitterness comes from there and without it the pineapple is more noticeable and makes the whole thing nice and sweet. I know most of the nutrients are in the rind but grapefruit is so benificial anyway I don't think it's missing out on it too much :)

No Spinach! by: Anonymous
Can you substitute the spinach for kale?
****Hugh's reply**** Sure you can. It's your kitchen and your juice, you make any substitutions you like. Main thing is to have fun with it as you’re getting healthier.

**Hugh's reply **** Yes Eli, the greens from the beet. The green leafy tops you see growing above ground.

Love this recipe! It takes the earthyness out of the beet and turns it sweet.

Not with grapefruit! by: Kelly Skinner
I hate grapefruit but gave this a try anyway...bleh! Even after adding more pineapple. Hubby hated it more than I did. Tried it with a couple oranges instead and it wasn't so bad. Now what to do with the other grapefruit. : P
Hugh's reply*****I would say in the future if you hate something then don't try it. If you are so-so about a fruit or vegetable then its worth a try in my opinion. Perhaps you can gift the other grapefruit to a friend or neighbor.
